Compassion & Conviction: A Conversation on Civic Engagement with Justin Giboney

The divisive nature of our culture poses a real challenge to kingdom leaders on a daily basis. The right assumes the left cares only about justice; the left assumes the right cares only about morals. Justin Giboney, a young Atlanta attorney, believes that for a follower of Jesus, it can’t be “either/or,” but must be “both/and.” It was this idea that helped birth The AND Campaign, with the goal of helping followers of Jesus move toward faithful civic engagement. Traveling all over the United States speaking to pastors and other kingdom leaders, Giboney believes that many are searching for a better understanding of the civic process and the role our faith should play in it. His presentation will challenge each of us in our own places of influence within the church to a more thoughtful approach to the important ideas of conviction and compassion. Giboney doesn’t believe that politics can replace either the gospel or the church, but he does believe that our faith in Christ must influence how we operate in the world of civic responsibility.
